Behind Silex PLC-s there is
more than 15 years of industrial experience and over 1000 systems delivered.
Our main products are industrial controls of different types and
functions, as general purpose PLC-s or special controls e.g. for vehicle,
military controls, building automation units or customer specific
controls.
The main features of Silex
PLC-s are state of the art technology, high reliability
and easy programming.
All of these controls have a
common software environment (integrated development system, same communication
protocol) so these hardware tools - which are seemingly designed for different
functions - are able to work in an integrated system.
For the last more than 15
years we have been continuously updating and broadening the range of our offer.
With this catalogue we would like to assist you in system planning or configuring
of the proper appliances.
In accordance with the nature
of task and the way of installation or application we can offer a wide range of
solutions both for concentrated and distributed control topology. Our offers
for the former task are the rack-system PLC-s with broad I/O card assortment
and for the distributed control tasks the fix or modular 8 and 32 bit systems,
which can be placed directly to the physical I/O points.
All of our devices are
designed for network communication. The 32 bit units are capable for Ethernet -
TCP/IP and CAN, the 8 bit modules for CAN communication. Irrespectively of the
control family the applied protocols are the same for all of the Silex PLC-s.
It means that we can use both concentrated (rack) and distributed PLC-s within
the same network without restrictions or auxiliary fitting.
It is practical to use
distributed controls when the physical system itself is largely distributed, so
the controls can be installed in different concentration points. Hereby
the cabling is less complicated and cheaper. In this situation one or
more, high power CPU-s and intelligent nodes, which can do I/O
tasks and can run local programs as well, are connected by a high-speed, high
reliability CAN network. The network- and system software hides the
topology from the user, so the I/O points, which are in different places, are
handled as one system. From the programmer’s view there is no difference
between e.g. an input on-board the CPU or an output connected to a far
node. For the user both are I/O mirror references. I/O refresh and
providing simultaneity is the system software's duty.
For the distributed controls
we apply small, flat assembly boxes with rail mounted construction.
Both the 32 and 8 bit PLC-s
can be used independently for control tasks and the network is expandable later
on.
Within the distributed PLC
system there are modular and fix (expandable only over the network) units.
At the modular controls to
the different I/O modules (i.e. the AIN, SPI, CNT and digital
I/O) can be connected due to the task. In the datasheet of CPU-s you can
find the maximal number of AIN, SPI and CNT add-on modules. Description of
modules connected to the ports is in the chapter after CPU-s.
Both to the 32 and the 8
bit CPU-s 6 I/O modules can be connected. The ordering number contains the
distribution of input and output modules (see the chapter after CPU-s).
It is worth to mention
separately the fix, viz. not expandable units. Out of these the units of
FreeDome system are formed specifically for building automation but certainly
they can be used in other control functions according to their specification.
